1. The Chemistry 

When marble flooring is exposed to heat, it will decompose calcium oxide and carbon dioxide. When you spill orange or lemon juice or a bit of tamarind on the marble floors, it will start decomposing carbon dioxide.  

With water, marbles react too! It releases calcium bicarbonate with carbon dioxide. These can make you sick and cause health hazards in the long run! 

2. Broken Bones  

The surface of marble floors is slippery. If the floor gets wet, the extent of being slippery gets higher. And thus, it is not uncommon to fall when you are walking on a marble floor. For the kids, it can get extremely dangerous. 

Also, for the bathrooms and kitchen, it’s almost prohibited to use marble. This includes the pool decks too because these are the places that stay wet. A slippery surface is going to harm your health if you fall, isn’t it? 

3. Catching Cold

Nothing can hurt you more than a freezing floor in the winter! It is a low heat resistance stone. And if you add marble on your floor, when it is winter, it will be a lot colder than tiles or other floors.

4. The Silica 

The marble floor is not only going to harm you after installing it. During the installation period, there are health concerns here. Businesses that cut the slabs for marbles or any other artificial stone, can be harmful. 

As we are talking engineered stones like marbles, these can contain over 90% silica. And when the workers are exposed to the increased level of silica, they can put their life at risk. 

5. The Backbone 

Marble is expensive no doubt! Also, it takes a lot more work to install a marble floor. You have to get professionals for the installation and not many professionals are locally available always. But this doesn’t end here. 

After paying so much on marble and installing marble floors, the maintenance doesn’t get easier! Marble requires a lot of attention. From cleaning products to dropping anything on the floor, you must be extra cautious!
