New Blog: 390days.com

I've been getting bored with Blogger and the limitations of the format. I've been drawn to experiment some with WordPress, but I learned that the free version is horrible and gives you very little freedom, i.e. Tyranny Watch. I decided to begin another blog on Christianity, only with a different slant. You will notice that this blog will increasingly be more news-oriented and instructive, while my new blog will focus more on questioning what I have dubbed "Christianity 2.0," the daily struggle of being a believer in our culture. 390days.com will likely be more personal and challenging, with longer posts, while prayeramedic will continue to remain concise and give mostly bite-size chunks of theology and philosophy. Also, prayeramedic will still address local (Northwest Indiana) issues as well as larger issues, while 390days.com will only focus on a larger context.

Check it out at 390days.com and let me know what you think! No pressure to read both of course, they are designed to attract two different kinds of readers, but if you like both -- great!

Glad to see you taking the next step, we all really need to get serious about monetization again. I read a great post yesterday, can't remember where, that suggested that bloggers may see increases in income while the rest of the economy is suffering. People who are in fear, and sadly have freetime due to budget constraints, are more likely to be online

That's an interesting observation. I hope your source is right! I wish I could figure out how to get Tyranny Watch onto its own platform, it's my biggest source of traffic, and I can't monetize it!

You could easily put an Adsense banner on each post page by editing the template code in the Wordpress WP-Admin. If you switched to a 3 column theme, you can use one side for a 'skyscraper' ad (like I do on Dunesblog). There are plenty of ways to monetize it and Wordpress is a much better place to do it than anywhere else.

Thanks for the advice jonathan! I'm going to play with the "skyscraper" ads!
